Asia Group The reception and implementation of the General Chapter—those are the main goals of our Council of Congregation. During the past few days, we have followed a program of information on the priorities of the Chapter: the Mission in Eastern Europe, foundations in Asia, youth and vocation ministry, and the covenant with lay people.
Small-group work has made it possible today to begin a second stage of our work, that of reflection and debate. In a later stage, we will have to come to concrete decisions and orientations. |

Talking about vocation ministry and the lay/religious covenant in the Congregation, as we did today, is to conger up the image and the life of very concrete men and women.
During prayer in the morning, we heard the names of the young people who are currently in novitiate, in Africa, in Madagascar, in France, in Chile, in Brazil, in North America. There are more than thirty, and we should thank the Lord for such a gift. Then, at Evening Prayer, each brother mentioned the name of an Assumption lay person he knew in a special way. Once again, how many reasons to be thankful! |
