 Le groupe du Conseil The Council pursued its consideration of the theme of “Justice and Peace.” The name itself is a problem: justice and peace, solidarity with the poor, the defense of the environment . . . Which designation should we retain? Probably none of them because the emphasis may be different according to the continent or country concerned. But solidarity is not an optional matter. At the Assumption, we are men of communion, men of faith, solidarity men, all at once!

 Group Justice and Peace Marie-Sophie d’Oultremont, religious of the Assumption and Nicolas Taralle, Assumptionist, have been invited to help us in our reflection on the theme of « Justice and Peace ». They are not experts on the matter but only a brother and a sister, witnessing our discussions and our questions to help us go ahead. The Provincials were able, one after another, to present how their Province dealt with this apostolic axis.

“All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they shared everything they had.” (Acts, 4, 32)
The 39th Council of the Congregation has heard this passage of the Acts during their first Eucharist celebrated in the chapel of the general house. For an Augustinian Congregation like ours, this quote is probably a sign of encouragement, an incentive to be faithful to our roots. |
