Here are a few photos taken on the occasionof a Confirmation ceremony in the remote outback of the diocese, under a magnificent tree aptly called a "Juazeiro," the name of the principal city of this region and of the diocese.

After consultation of the fifty or so religious of the Province of Brazil, erected on April 21, 1993, Fr. Marcos Lucio Bento de Souza was renominated provincial on September 10, 2006, for a term of three years (his second mandate).

On August 9-10, the members of the Postulation Committee met in Paris. This committee (Assumptionists Vincent Cabanac, chair, Aldo Gajardo, Lucas Chuffart, Paul Nguyen, and John Franck, and Oblates Claire Rabitz and Judith Kahindo)* was formed to oversee the beatification process of the founder of the Augustinians of the Assumption and the Oblates of the Assumption, Venerable Emmanuel d’Alzon.
