His Eminence Methode STRATIEV, Assumptionist and Emeritus Bishop, passed away last night around 11pm, May 12, 2006 in SOFIA (Bulgaria). His funeral will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, May 14 after celebration of a Mass at noon in Sofia. The Superior General, Richard Lamoureux, will be present at the funeral.

The Assumptionist community of Riobamba is characterized by the fact that it’s fairly new (founded in 1996) and by renewal. Of the religious who made up the community from May 27, 2002 (the day I arrived in Ecuador) to August 20, 2004, I am the only one left. Every year the Chimborazo community underwent a transformation.
