V. Kambere

The new Provincial in Africa is Fr. Vincent KAMBERE, currently local superior in our large theology formation house in Kinshasa (Ngaliema neighborhood of the city).  He recently attended the Council of Congregation in Helvoirt as first Assistant of the current Provincial.  Vincent will assume duties on 15 June 2006.

He has been a religious for twenty years, having made first profession in September 1986.  He was then ordained a priest in December 1995.  Since then, he has been given various responsibilities within the Province:  pastor of the Parish of the Divine Master in the Masina neighborhood of Kinshasa, Superior of the formation community of Emmanuel d’Alzon (also in Kinshasa), member of the Provincial Council, and at times local treasurer in various communities.  He is hardly lacking in experience, particularly in the principal apostolic fields of the Province, specifically formation and parish work.  He has also been involved in academic work, inasmuch as he is in the process of drafting a thesis in view of obtaining a diploma of advanced graduate study in Moral Theology.

Simple without being naïve, with a strong belief in human nature because created in God’s image as he likes to say, persevering, a lover of truth, of prayer… those are some of the qualities that are natural to him and will help him be a good servant of the Lord’s flock entrusted to him!
