The logo for the Congregation : a distinctive and unifying sign
When the Council of Congregation was meeting at Helvoirt (Netherlands) from April 24 to May 3 in its 38th ordinary session, it adopted a logo for the whole Congregation.
In order to manifest belonging to one and the same family, The Council of Congregation had already, in 2001, charged the General Council with the task of beginning a procedure for achieving a logo which would be common to all Provinces. After consultation with all the religious of the Congregation, who proposed more than fifty logo sketches which of course took into account some discriminating criteria for making a logo, experts and artists, from within as from without the Congregation, were then consulted.
Of all the sketches presented, the one proposed by the Brazilian artist, Carlo Pastro, was selected. This logo, simple and christocentric, carried out in a contemporary style, portrays the motto ART in modern form. It can be easily rendered in various formats ( on paper, on medals, on T-shirts, as a pin, or embroidered, on liturgical vestments, etc.) This new Congregational logo which was tried out at the last General Chapter and which was spontaneously made use of by certain Provinces and Regions, does not in the least prohibit the utilization of another logo currently in effect in one or another Province, Region or country. However, while respecting the principle of diversity which we wish to promote within the Congregation, this logo, a distinctive and unifying sign, does represent the Congregation in its universality. Father Adélard Paluku Mayani, A.A.

N.B. :For an interpretation of the logo, see AAINFO #24, page 20, by Father Jean-Daniel Gullung : “The graphics are modern in the fineness of line and its soberness : only one horizontal line for emphasis, three very sturdy vertical ones, three diagonals and two curves. The cross, very visible and central, catches the eye : christocentrism which calls to mind the motto : “for love of our Lord Jesus Christ.’ Therein lies our motivation. The motto ART (Adveniat Regnum Tuum) outlines itself around the cross. That is our goal. Having placed the A at the top and at the right to come back toward the left creates a circular motion similar to the motion of the gaze of the three angels in the Trinity of Roublev. The A, made like the roof of a church tower, which is drawn by the two vertical lines, invites us to build the Church. That is our mission. The lozenge-shaped form, with rounded corners, sky-blue colored, enables us to discreetly recall Mary’s presence.” Father Jean-Daniel Gullung, A.A. “
