The best way to manage your mail is to set up your account in Outlook, Outlook Express or other mail software.
A. Setup your account in Outlook Express for the first time
From the Tools menu, choose "Accounts."
Select the "Mail" tab.
Click the "Add" button.
From the Add menu, click "Mail."
In the text box labeled Display Name, type your name (e.g.. Father John Smith) and click "Next."
In the Email Address box, type your assumptio email address (e.g.
This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
) and click "Next."
Under "My incoming mail server is a..." select "POP3."
Type "mail.assumptio.org" in the Incoming Mail (POP3, IMAP, or HTTP) Server box.
Type "mail.assumptio.org" in the Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server box.
Click "Next."
In the Account Name box, type your email address (e.g.
This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
).
In the Password box, type your password.
If you want Outlook Express to remember your password, check the "Remember password" box.
Do not check the boxes labeled "Log on using Secure..."
Click "Next."
Click "Finish."
B. If you already use Outlook etc. for assumptio.org account:
- when your mail service stops working and it seems like you can't connect to the old server and can't get to the new one.
- in your software menu please go to the settings of your account and change:
Incoming Mail: mail.assumptio.org (instead of pop3.assumptio.org)
Outgoing Mail: mail.assumptio.org (instead of smtp.assumptio.org or other)
Account Name: type your email address (e.g.
This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
instead of john%assumptio.org)
Uncheck the box next to "My Server Requires Authentication."
