SUPPPORT FOR THE NETWORK OF BUSH SCHOOLS OF THE ASSUMPTION IN MADAGASCAR

1_big.jpg

Having assumed responsibility for the supervision of Christian communities in the region of Toliara (Tuléar) in the southern most portion of Madagascar since 1950, the Assumptionists have had an opportunity to get to know the local population and their way of life.

So itisthatthey came to understand that illiteracy and the inability to receive an education weigh heavily on the future of so many children who live in villages in the bush.

This network of bush schools has now been operating for 15 years.Today, we oversee about such 45 schools, organized into 4 districts, all within the diocese of Toliara. It should be noted that we receive NO government aid.

Wee stimate that between 3.500 - 4.000 children attend our schools.
