ADVENIAT Foundation
Foundation created in 2010 by the Augustinians of the Assumption
Since their foundation in 1845 by Fr. Emmanuel d’Alzon, the Assumptionists have turned their attention to the working classes, especially the most vulnerable. In a highly modern spirit, the religious set up missions focusing on social action and education, multiplying the number of “alumnats” (small seminaries) in the countryside, opening orphanages, begging for bread for children…
Present on five continents, these disciples of Saint Augustine are still working to meet three major challenges: religious indifference, exclusion and injustice.
The actions of Fondation Adveniat
Fondation Adveniat is at the heart of the Assumptionists’ commitment to helping the most disadvantaged young people achieve full autonomy through personal development.
Our long-term initiatives to help children and young people in precarious situations, regardless of their background or origin, are designed to provide them with prospects for the future.
DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF THE CONGO

Since the 1990s, the eastern part of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has been ravaged by a latent war that has already claimed over 6 million lives and devastated the economy, healthcare and education systems. To help young people escape the spiral of violence, and enable them to go to school, Fondation Adveniat has come to their rescue.
MADAGASCAR, “AMIKA” CENTER FOR disadvantaged children

AMIKA is a center for young orphans and children from vulnerable families, founded in 1989 by Assumptionist Father Pierre Tollard.
VIETNAM, better support for ORPHELINS in care

In Saigon, Vietnam, the Assumptionists take in some forty orphans, as well as children from single-parent families or those without the means to look after them. They are then able to grow up peacefully, receive schooling, medical care and prospects for the future.
Accompanying and supporting students

To enable students in precarious situations to pursue their studies in good conditions and benefit from decent housing, the Assumption brothers welcome over 200 of them into their hostels in France and abroad.

KALOOB NGO in the Philippines
Since 2010, our non-governmental organization (NGO), Kaloob, has been working with the poorest and most vulnerable in the Philippines, especially victims of natural disasters, to create a better future with them. Kaloob was founded by the Augustinians of the Assumption.
Why help the Philippines?
The Philippines is an archipelago where extreme poverty persists. Many people still have great difficulty gaining access to education, health care, decent housing and a stable source of income.
The Philippines is at the forefront of climate change and natural disasters. Every year, typhoons destroy homes, roads and crops. The poorest are the first victims.
- Disasters: The Philippines is one of the regions most vulnerable to natural disasters.
- Poverty: Around 1/5 of the population of the Philippines lives on less than $2 a day.
- Infant mortality: 27 out of every 1,000 Filipino children will die before the age of 5.
- Schooling:3.6 million children and young people do not or cannot go to school.
