Education under the sponsorship of the Augustinians of the Assumption

The 34th General Chapter (2023) talks about education at the Assumption:

“For the passion of the great causes of man and God, the congregation is significantly committed to education in all its forms:

• Across the world, from nursery school to university, it welcomes some 30,000 students every year in 88 educational establishments to face up to a variety of challenges: ignorance, secularism, unbelief, indifference, individualism, social discrimination, insecurity, poverty, materialism, and more.
• In this chapter year, it celebrates 150 years (1873-2023) of Bayard ‘s presence among the world’s major media, with “the concern to accompany its readers from one stage of life to another. Whether it’s a child’s first steps, learning to read, entering adolescence or reaching retirement” (Bayard, Toute une histoire, 2023) in more than 40 countries around the world.
• We are delighted to see the emergence of other innovative initiatives in the service of education in all our locations, including other media (Radio Moto, Moto TV, etc.), parishes, cultural centers, homes and orphanages, etc.” (CG n°178).

“The values proposed by the Global Education Pact reinforce the principles or values of Alzonian pedagogy, reaffirmed by the Assumption Education Congress held in 2016. These values or tasks are promoted and carried out both in the school environment and in any other apostolic environment…” (GC n°184)
