Solidarity Campaign 2026
Among the many endeavors supported by the Lay Assumptionists at St. Anne-St. Patrick’s in Fiskdale (MA, USA) is the Assumption Solidarity Campaign. It has become a tradition with this group to hold a Bake Sale to raise funds for the Solidarity Campaign—whatever it may be. The Bake Sale usually takes place some time in early March. This year’s Bake Sale is scheduled for March 14-15. It takes place after every Mass held that weekend. The Lay Assumptionists are not alone in their preparation for this event. Parishioners are asked to “bake and buy.”

In addition, the Faith Formation students are involved, particularly the grade 2 students. As these children get ready for their First Communion, they are reminded of the importance of helping others. They have been introduced to what the Solidarity Campaign is and the needs of the radio station in Oicha. The children even had a guest speaker to give them some background information. Fr. Sal Musande, pastor of the parish, came to talk to the students during one of their classes. The children showed their interest in the radio station, and they also barraged Fr. Sal with numerous questions about the animals in Africa. The children will focus on the Solidarity Campaign for their offertory collection during the First Communion liturgy. All proceeds from the 2026 Bake Sale at St. Anne-St. Patrick’s will go exclusively to the Solidarity Campaign. In the past, donations have amounted to anywhere from $1,000 to $2,000. The group hopes to exceed that amount this year.
