The Superior General personally visits the institute’s provinces
RL. Nº127
at least once every six years.
A few days ago, Father Ngoa Ya Tshihemba, Superior General, completed his canonical visit to our three communities in Spain. He went first to San Anton ( Elche) from March 2 to 6, 2026, then to Reina del Cielo ( Madrid) from March 6 to 12, and finally to Dulce Nombre de María ( Madrid) from March 12 to 14. This visit, far from being a mere formality, is part of the Superior General’s mission of closeness to each community in the congregation. And it’s clear that Fr. Ngoa has taken this time very seriously!
During his stay, he met many people. With the pastoral councils in particular, he engaged in lively exchanges, taking the time to listen, comfort and encourage. What undoubtedly left the greatest impression on the brothers, however, were the one-on-one meetings the Superior had with each of them. These were simple, fraternal discussions, in which we were able to share our joys, of course, but also our difficulties, our questions, the things that sometimes weigh heavily on our mission. There were also moments of grace shared with the Christian community: a beautiful celebration at the Reina del Cielo parish, with the animation of the Lenten recollection, and a gentle visit to our elderly brothers in residence.
Before leaving, Fr. Ngoa left his brothers with a message that still resonates today: “Our mission is to work for the coming of the Kingdom of God. No grand speeches, but a simple and demanding reminder: may this Reign grow first within us, through a careful, authentic community life; and may it shine out around us, in each of our apostolates, day after day.
