Le Montmartre, a house of formation for the Assumptionists

From its foundation until the early 50s, the monastery was a novitiate and later a scholasticate for brothers, mostly Franco-Americans, who studied theology in Old Quebec. By this time, up to 52 religious were living at Montmartre. The large property included a farm, a maple grove, a chicken coop, an orchard and a printing press.
