PGC Romania – Highlights of the day – #3

Wednesday, June 3, 2026

On this day commemorating the holy martyrs of Uganda, the day began with a Mass presided over by Fr. Bolivar Lukenzano, Provincial of the Andean Province. He urged us to rekindle the gifts of grace we have received so that we may remain on the path that Christ has laid out for us. And, following the example of St. Charles Lwanga and his companions, to stand firm in the face of life’s daily trials.

It was under this impetus that the PGC first reviewed the proposal from the International Commission for the Protection of Minors and Adults against Abuse. This document, which concerns the revision of the norms in effect since 2014, was submitted to the CGP for review, which will be finalized during upcoming sessions. The same applies to the amendments made to the statutes of the Province of Africa.

Another significant moment of the day was the evaluation of our Assumptionist International Formation Community(CIFA) in Ouagadougou. The PGC is pleased with this work of formation for our young brothers in an appropriate environment, which fosters a firm grounding in the charism, an intellectual culture, and a proven experience of interculturality. May the team of formators, as well as we young brothers in formation, find here the recognition of the members of the PGC.

At the end of the day, we heard presentations on plans to open communities in Mexico (North America) and Kenya (East Africa). We are grateful for all these initiatives to spread the Assumptionist charism in the countries where we are present.
