Saturday, June 6, and Sunday, June 7, 2026
One might certainly wonder whether the PGC takes a weekly day off. That is not the case. Saturday and Sunday were just as busy as the previous days.
This Saturday, the PGC focused primarily on reviewing, for the second time, the guidelines regarding the prevention and response to abuse within our communities and ministries, for the benefit of those who come into contact with us. The text proposed by the International Commission for the Protection of Minors and Vulnerable Adults was carefully reviewed. The PGC, while thanking the commission, offered recommendations aimed at improving the text in preparation for its final adoption at the commission’s upcoming December session.
The afternoon was devoted to the customary exercise of co-responsibility within the Congregation, which takes the form of personal meetings between the Provincials and the Superior General or other members of the Curia, as well as among themselves.

The PGC is not merely a time for meetings; it also includes opportunities for fellowship, relaxation, and exploring the socio-cultural environment of our brothers. That is why, this Sunday, we all traveled to engage with the Church of Romanian Moldavia. The day began with the celebration of the Eucharist at the parish church in Gura Humorului. From there, we went to visit the Orthodox monasteries of Voroneț and Sucevița. For most members of the PGC, seeing the impressive 15th–16th-century frescoes housed in these two monasteries was an opportunity to better immerse themselves in the riches of the Eastern heartland of the Christian faith.
