Wednesday 6
In the morning we continued reflection on the mission of the Secretary General for formation (role, roadmap , secretariat). Then we tackled the question of mobilizing works, in order to mark out the work for the implementation of the modifications requested by the general chapter (revision of the list, transversal animation of the congregation based on these works, mode support and evaluation). The CGP was then able to react and enrich a new document prepared in CGO and aimed at better clarifying the role of general assistants. It was an opportunity for the Provincials to share their expectations, whether in terms of monitoring of the provinces by the assistants or transversal thematic animation. Finally, some CGP essentials were there: formator approvals; community opening projects; revision of the Medium-Term Real Estate Plan and financing of this plan for the year 2024.

As the end of the CGP is fast approaching, the program is reorganized to be able to deal with what seems most necessary at the moment.
The first part of the morning is devoted to a look at the revised Chapter Rules, which must be validated in CGP before publication, as well as at the changes in the statutes of two Provinces following the provincial chapters of application. The statutes of the Province of North America can be validated at the end of the week, as for those of the Province of Africa, they require some adjustments and will therefore be taken up at the next CGP.
The second time allowed us to hear the report of the Postulator General, including the sharing of some new elements since the general chapter:
- Deposit at the Dicastery of the Causes of Saints in July 2023 of the diocesan investigation concerning the supposed miracle of the Venerable Father Etienne PERNET AA concerning the healing of Sidonie RASOANANDRASANA in 2016.
- Opening in October 2023 of the Roman phase of the investigation concerning the Servant of God Father Matheus Van HERKHUIZEN AA after the completion of the diocesan investigation in Brazil.
- Visit of the Sisters of Saint Joan of Arc to Quebec, in October 2023, to inform them of the progress of the Cause of Venerable Father Marie Clément STAUB AA and to collect a copy of the Positio.
- “General Public” Conference, during the National Pilgrimage to Lourdes, on the holiness of Father d’Alzon and his role in the revival of pilgrimages in France. The prayer of intercession appeared in the Pilgrim's booklet and was recited on this occasion (a first in Lourdes it seems!).
- Finally, in Nîmes, from November 12 to 14, 2023, the meeting took place with the Diocesan Committee and the International Secretariat for the Cause of Father d’Alzon.
The end of the morning was devoted to the preparation of a new Mission Letter for the Secretary General for Formation. As for the afternoon, it was entirely devoted to bilateral meetings between general, provincials, assistants...
