Ecuador: the canonical visit continues...
Crossing northern borders, the canonical visit to the Assumptionists in Ecuador was an opportunity to get to know and appreciate the only community present in the city of Riobamba, some 180 kilometers south of Quito. The community's establishment in the Andean country in 1996 was the result of a process of discernment carried out at the time between the Provinces of Chile-Argentina and Brazil, and the Regions of Colombia and Mexico, to celebrate the centenary of the Congregation's arrival in Latin America (Chile) in 1890.
The religious community currently serves the parish of San Pedro de Licán, an extensive and largely rural pastoral area, with fine religious and cultural traditions expressed in lively popular festivals. The meeting with representatives of the various parish groups, the Good Shepherd Sunday Eucharistic celebration with all the communities, the sharing with young vocations and the meeting with the Alliance lay group, gave Father Ngoa, Father João and Father Bolívar the joy of confirming their consecrated brothers in life and mission for the coming of the Kingdom of God in this region of Ecuador, at the foot of Chimborazo.
