Episcopal celebration!

PGC - Highlights of the day n° 6– December 6-8, 2025

Roma Immagine correlata a Episcopal celebration!

This Saturday morning was quite stimulating, as we discussed the opening of new communities planned by our provinces. Since the vote will not take place until the end of the PGC, I cannot reveal the details of the projects presented here. But you should know that five new communities have been presented for the CGP's approval and that further information was exchanged on a sixth opening planned in the medium term. A very encouraging sign of vitality!

Saturday afternoon was devoted to one-on-one discussions between PGC members.

Early on Sunday morning, a delegation of nine PGC members flew to Namur (Belgium) to testify to our Assumptionist fraternity to Bishop Fabien Lejeusne on the day of his episcopal ordination. Indeed, if he had not been appointed bishop by the Holy Father, Fr. Fabien would have been in Rome with us these days, like all the Provincial Superiors of the Congregation. Participating in the celebration of his episcopal ordination was also a way for us to signify the Congregation's availability to serve the universal Church, allowing our brother to fulfill another ecclesial mission from now on... and knowing full well that we would now have to find, unexpectedly, a successor to head the Province of Europe! The celebration was beautiful, the organization impeccable, and the joy of the people of God in Namur palpable! We accompany Bishop Lejeusne with our fraternal prayers so that his new mission may be fruitful and bring him much joy. Perhaps this appointment will open up new possibilities for collaboration between this diocese and the Congregation (the Collège d'Alzon in Bure, under the supervision of the Assumptionists, is located in the diocese, and the Collège Saint-Michel in Gosselies is in the neighboring diocese)...

But without delay, the members of the PGC got back on the road and, on Monday afternoon, we continued our work with the usual table of key positions in the Congregation. The purpose of this exercise is to anticipate the human resources we will need in the coming years in order to be able to ensure the functioning of important areas of the congregation: mobilizing works, formation, specialized studies more specifically related to our charism, certain general services... We ended the day with a second “case study” session to help a provincial in his accompaniment of a delicate situation.
