CGP - Red thread n.7 - Friday December 8 and Saturday December 9, 2023

We stayed the course until the end and this first CGP of the new team was able to bear good fruit.
Friday 7
The morning allowed us to return to the requests of the last general chapter which concern more particularly the CGP and interprovincial collaborations, and we were able to visualize the projects already underway and mark out the work to be planned in the times to come. Among these projects, we have taken together a table of sessions planned for the next 6 years. Some will be done in the form of decentralized sessions adapted to each reality... For example, sessions on leadership intended for provincial councils and other brothers in responsibility which can be held, with a general assistant, in the provinces... This will also be the case for sessions on the protection of minors or on support for the pre-novitiate stages or for mission preparation sessions… Other international sessions will, for their part, bring together participants in Rome or elsewhere: sessions for those in charge of CIFA or major formation houses and for provincial formators; session for brothers not moving toward ordained ministries; session for provincial secretaries; for masters of novices; for archivists etc. The morning concluded with traditional prospective work from a certain number of key positions... The afternoon allowed the provincials to continue their discussions and move forward in establishing transfer agreements...
Saturday 8
The last half day was also busy. We were able to formally vote on all decisions processed during this CGP and requiring the consent of the CGP. Then we were able to share our evaluation of this CGP and future avenues to continue and improve the work of this body. We finally made an appointment for the next CGP in June 2024, in the province of North America, the precise location will be indicated soon.
